William Haspel

Director of Academic Strategy & Wellbeing

William Haspel is a senior at Pomona College, a top-4 liberal arts college, where he majors in Public Policy Analysis with a minor in Psychology. A Pomona College Scholar, he has consistently placed in the top 25% of his class. Before college, William graduated as valedictorian from Bay Shore Senior High School, earning an IB Diploma and building a strong academic foundation across the humanities and social sciences.

Over the past three years, William has mentored students through the college admissions process, helping them develop strong academic profiles, refine essays, and strategically position themselves for top universities. At Pomona, he has served as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Psychological Science and Statistics for Psychology, supporting over 40 students in writing lab reports, data analysis, and statistical reasoning using R. His academic background allows him to guide students with precision, particularly in research-based applications and analytically driven fields.

William also brings extensive research and leadership experience across policy, psychology, and technology. He has worked as a cultural neuroscience research assistant, contributing to experimental design, data analysis, and co-authoring research presented at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology conference. Selected as a scholar in the Tomodachi Kakehashi Inouye Program, William combines academic excellence with real-world experience to help students craft thoughtful, compelling, and intellectually grounded applications.
